Your Family Is Important
Lawyers are people too. They are painted in such a bad light, but at the end of the day, we have chosen our profession for the same reason that others have. I love what I do. It gives me the opportunity to help as many people as well as I can. It seemed right to me to tell everybody a little about myself.
My name is John Coppola and I grew up in Northern Virginia, and have lived here ever since. Growing up, my home was in Mclean, Virginia where I attended O’Connell High School and fostered an interest in Economics. I left Mclean after grade school and transitioned to Union College in New York, where I spent the next few years of my young life earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. I entered a Master of Economics program at Boston College and earned my MBA at the young age of 23.
At this point, I had a choice as to what I wanted to pursue (the possible careers that could stem from an MBA in Economics are vast). I could enter Wall Street or become a statistician or outright economist. In the end, I chose an occupation that allowed me to directly work with real people, not corporations or Investors, but with people from every demographic. I chose to pursue Law and earned the title of Juris Doctor from American University, close to where I grew up and where I would soon established my family.
My family is the most important thing in the world to me. I have four beautiful children, three of which were triplets, born prematurely. All of them are now pursuing their dreams in colleges across the country. My beautiful wife and I reside in Northern Virginia and enjoy seeing our children whenever they can make the journey home.
Perhaps it was due to an inherent interest in the welfare of all families that I chose to pursue my estate planning career. I will not always be around for my children, and I would never want my children to experience any legal pitfalls after my passing. By securing my own estate for my family, I can make sure that they are always taken care of, that they always take first priority even if I am no longer around.
It’s with this instinct that I practice to secure the estates of as many families that I can reach, and in doing so, protect their members from the law.
